Your Conservation Requirement
Volunteer to the support the trails that you use!
Think about the number of hours you've spent hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, trail running, mountain biking, or kayaking. Now consider devoting some small percentage of time toward trail work and environmental stewardship. With budget cuts to so many organizations, your help is even more needed!
There are a myriad of options, you can sign up for the Mt. Erie work party (will be mentioned in class) or check the list below and take part in something that fits your schedule. If you chose one from the list, document your day of conservation activity by sending an e-mail to me, Laural Ringler, at ringlerwrites@gmail.com. Please include: 1) what you did and 2) through which organization you worked, plus 3) the name and 4) contact phone # or e-mail of the person who supervised the event. You could also let me know if you would recommend that particular place, event, leader, and organization. Thanks for volunteering!
